Hygienic care for the English Cocker Spaniel
The hygiene procedures of an English Cocker Spaniel puppy must be taught as early as possible. In this case, the dog will perceive them calmly. Keep in mind that it’s practically impossible for a puppy to remain motionless, therefore the first time care procedures should not last more than a couple of minutes.
Inspect your dog’s nails regularly and trim them with a special nail clipper if necessary.
Inspect the eyes of the English Cocker Spaniel and remove the secretions with a slightly damp cotton pad. A separate disk is used for each eye.
The ears of the English Cocker Spaniel are a matter of special concern. They should be cleaned regularly, but do not push the swab into your ear with any force – this can cause serious injury.
Check your English Cocker Spaniel gums regularly. In the absence of proper dental care, tartar can form, which, in turn, leads to gum inflammation and tooth loss. Healthy gums should be pink. It is advisable to brush the teeth of the English Cocker Spaniel at least 2 times a week. The procedure is carried out using a special toothpaste and brush.
The English Cocker Spaniel is a rather active dog, which is very excited from active games and is ready for endless walks. So you need to consider that every day you have to set aside time for this.
